A Special Family Portrait

This past Sunday was what would have been my Parents 35th Wedding Anniversary, So at the last minute I had an idea to do a special photo for my Mom. Wednesday last week I arranged with all my Brothers and their families and with our Favorite Photographer Justin, to have this picture done. We originally were going to do it at a local park that has an amazing funky looking tree that everyone could kind of sit it, However it SNOWED! so at the very last minute (like an hour before the photos) I called my mom and told her I was coming for a visit and that way I could get into her locked condo building. Then I had everyone meet there at the arranged time. Whoever got there first was to phone me so I could pretend Curtis got called to work and had to go but really just went down to the lobby to let everyone in the building. So we did the pictures in the lobby of her building. Anyway here is our favorite shot and My mom LOVED IT!! Thanks Justin!

Back Row from left to right: My oldest Brother Cory, His wife Rhonda, My husband Curtis, Diana who is married to my 3rd bother Pj next to her, Then my 2nd Brother Chris and his wife Drewin holding their 2 year old Jayda.

next row: Darin (in the Green) and Zander next to him belong to Cory & Rhonda, Then Myself, holding my 2 year Old McKenzie, Then Cale who is PJ & Dianas little guy.

Front: Chris and Drewin's Daughter Keirah and My Oldest (4) McKayla.

Together we make a fine looking Bunch of 15!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #11

OK! Now I have to admit I think this may be my favorite combo yet. I also have to admit that I got "confused" last week and made this card for last weeks challenge before realizing that I used this week colors last weeks parameters. HA HA! Luckily it still worked so I was actually ahead of the game.

This weeks challenge was selected by Dee. The colors you see in the color amp and it HAS to be a Christmas card, No other requirements. The picture is not the greatest as I do believe it was 3 am when I took the picture so crappy lighting and I was tired....lol Anyway, I started the card on a vanilla base. I used my polka dot basics (I {heart} PDB) and stamped in dark chocolate. next I took circle sticky that I got from JODY and also the solid circle sticky's cut in half to make the scallop along the bottom and added some Martha glitter. Ten I added the spring moss and pure poppy circles. Its an abstract sort of thing...I dunno. LOL Anywho then I finished the card with the saddle stitched ribbon and the sentiment. Overall I am happy with it.

Here is a different angle where you can kinda see the glitter and dimension better.

Please play along, feel free to use the color map and link to the rest of the crew. Leave us a link in the comments section to let us know that you played. BUT DON'T FORGET, before you go running off to your crafty place to check out the other LSC girls wonderful creations!!!

and the 2 girlies currently sailing away in the Caribbean on a stamping cruise have pre loaded their blogs for you as well. I bet they are having a blast together!

Have a great and happy weekend...I should be back tomorrow with another card and on Sunday for a very special post and possibly some more cards as I work on another 100 card order.

Loonie Stampers Challenge #10

Is this not the most adorable inspiration piece you ever did see??? This beauty was found by Regan and from it she pulled Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush and Vintage Cream!! She also asked that we use polka dots or flowers. So welcome to Loonie Stampers Challenge #10.

So this week I actually like my color map better then my card. Perhaps I should have just printed it and stuck in on a card....LOL. I am happy, however, that I finally tried the scalloped circle card because I have been meaning to for a long time. I also made a boo boo (no pun intended since it IS close to Halloween even if it is not a hallo card...haha) I used berry sorbet ribbon. I honestly didn't even realize it until I was uploading the picture.

Don't forget to visit the other ladies blogs to see what they made and come on do the challenge and link it up in the comments, we LOVE to see what you do.

Regan Char Maria Deanna Wendy

An Awesome Fall Wedding Layout

I am currently converting another friend and melding her mind to the scrapping world. HAHA Welcome Tanis to the wonderful world of Paper. I invite all my bloggin' friends to congratulate Tanis on her very first Scrapbook page of her and her brand New Husband, Mark! Didn't she do an excellent job? I think she needs to be a regular....and she will be, if I have anything to say about it! I am not giving you all the product deets but enjoy the pictures!

The fabulous photo used in this layout is one of the many FABULOUS pictures By ©Justin!!
Stamps used: Polka Dot Basics, Boxes, bags & Tags, and Wedding Day all from Papertrey Ink!

Silver on Silver

I love they way silver heat embossing looks on silver paper. This silver paper is from Papertrey's release last month and along with the Night sky blue, is to die for!!
I started by cutting the silver to 5.25 x 4 and then stamped the background builder stamp from Merry & Bright right in the top center of the silver. Because you can not see the versamark on the CS I had to do the heat emboss and then stamp again, do the heat emboss until it was completed all the way along. I LOVE it!!!
I also love the shape. That shape is available through spellbinders soon and also through Stampin up for the Big Boss. I don't have either of them...yet. So I drew the design free hand on the back of the card stock. Once I was happy with the outline I cut it out and added the paper pierced borders.

Here is a bit of a side profile to show you the silver on silver and how it just gleams. I finished off the card by adding the new silver ribbon on top of Dark Chocolate twill. Then I cut out an oval using my nesties and heat embossed the sentiment from Merry & Bright in silver. I then added the baubles which are from stamping bella.

Sandylion Snowman!

Just another quick and cute card! I used the DCWV Christmas paper pack, Some Pure Poppy (which is my new fav red), a piece of paper altered chipboard and finished with a SandyLion Snowman!! Sentiment is from take a bough Papertrey Ink. Look how the "g"s fit perfectly around the holes in the scallops....pure fluke I swear!

Mini Card Gift Set

This is a little scalloped notes mini gift set I made for the mother of the bride a my friend Tanis' bridal shower. The newlywed and her Mom and kids will actually be joining us on Sunday for thanksgiving. I cant wait all that yummy food....mmmmmmmmmmmm Turkey!

Ok so back tot he project. The cards are pretty and simple and the box I stored them in is from the dollar giant and I decided not to cover it as I thought the color scheme was nice.

Love that leafy ribbon, Thanks Char!

This is a tiny 2 x 2 post it note key chain to match. I also included a mini gel pen wrapped with ribbon to go with the whole set.

Thanks for stopping by. Hey PTI fans are you not beside yourselves with excitement over this release?? I know I am. Oh and my apologies for my typing, these nails are brutal! :)

Well it is Friday again which means this is the next Loonie Stampers Challenge. Please play along and leave us a link if you want to. This weeks selection was made by Char and I LOVE the Combo. I am not going to say a whole lot since it is 4 am (my local time) and this was supposed to be ready to go already. I completely forgot to make my card and was shampooing my carpets. Now that I am done I am going to bed. Don't forget to check out everyone Else's cards!!
Char Regan Dee Maria Wendy

I wrapped my Kraft paper with ivory sheer creations ribbon, mounted the spring moss cardstock and the pattern paper from everyday Blessings and added the hydrangeas and bow off to the side. The sentiment is from the PTI Quilters sampler sentiments (in dark Chocolate...lol)

Oh and here is a not so great picture of the nails I had done last Thursday for my friends wedding. I had to add this picture because Char and I were just talking about them. Don't you think they are pretty?

Goodnight!

Season's Greetings & some pictures

Yup! I have officially started to wrack up the Christmas Cards. Well honestly after the last LSC and it being seasonal/Christmas it has thrown me in full throttle. I also had my number one customer contact me in need of Christmas cards so I will be showing you a few that I have made (mostly for her) over the next little while.

This paper came from a DCWV Paper pack at M's and I LOVE it. The snowman is a sticker that I mounted on a covered piece of chipboard. and best of all the Pure Poppy Twill matched perfectly to the colors of the paper!!

That's it for today but check back often I have a few more for you including the Next Installment of LSC on Friday!

ETA: I just HAVE to share these pictures! Justin took these pictures and I tell you it is wonderful to have an almost personal photographer just down the street from here! Thanks Justin.

This first one is McKenzie after her birthday cake August 26, 2008 at her kinda sorta not really birthday party. SO CUTE!!

And this picture Justin took and edited (edited my husband out of the picture...LOL) had it blown up and framed and gave me as a gift not long after it was taken at her birthday. I almost cried....I SAID ALMOST! Anywho, thanks for peeking!
