New Leaves...
I love the detail of the leaves in this stamp set called Leaves (if you can imagine) from Clear Dollar Stamps. So on this card I stamped the leaf cluster in Old Olive and Always Artichoke. Then added the mounted gold embossed version with some the PTI Gold ribbon, made the little mini Thanks tag and presto!
Here is another angle where you can actually tell that it is embossed.
This card I did the 'ol rock n roll technique (which I love because it is so damn easy and looks so great KWIM?) The leaf is from the same set and is mounted on some PTI Father Knows Best Paper.Friday, June 6, 2008
Oh So Cute Card Set
The very minute I saw this set, Cute Critters from Clear Dollar Stamps, I knew I HAD to have it. The set is complete with 4 clearly adorable animals and matching "Punny" Sayings to help you create perfect cards.
This first card is made on bashful blue, white and kraft. I embossed the white layer with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder (really who can live without that folder?)
I stamped my main image with black StazOn, and then colored him in with watercolor pencils.
"Needle Lift" is absolutely the most perfect sentiment for this little guy and works very well with the "Friends Stick Together" sentiment on the inside.
Ever since I was little I have liked skunks. I certainly wouldn't want to be up close and personal with one, I do however think they are cute and I like the small of them. Yes you read that right, I like the smell. Everyone thinks I am strange but hey what they heck. i guess it reminds me of camping in our backyard as kids, there was always skunks around and the smell was always there.
The flower that this cute little "Stinker" is carrying is simply perfect. I mean it is almost as if the flower is drooping over the smell...lol
This guy is super simple to color and looks great when done. I added the black with water color pencils and then added a hint of grey to outline the white areas.
"When Life stinks, You can count on me"
Wow! I can not even begin to tell you all the styles and themes of cards and other exciting paper craft items I would LOVE to use this ducky for.
This is actually about the 10th card I have made with her. The ducky is SO easy to color in and combined with great sayings you knock out a home run every time. In fact Here is another photo of a set of baby shower invites I made with it.
Hopefully Blogger cooperates and you will be able to click on the picture to see it bigger.
Hey Slowpoke! I completed the inside of this card with a get well soon message. Nothing worse then getting a cold that slows you down.
Again I have to say that I LOVE how quick and easy you can stamp, color and create with these images. Its almost like the simplicity of the great images takes all the thinking out of the process for me.
Well that is all I have for you right now, but I will be back hopefully tomorrow with an off topic post and perhaps so card pics for you, or something along those lines.
As a final note: Lori over at Clear Dollar Stamps has release 17 new items in the store as of the first of June so get over there and check it out!! You will not be disappointed. Wedding Cards Galore
I have a few cards to share with you today. I actually did these a few days ago. I stamped one day and made 13 different cards so I am sure slowly but surely I will share them with you.The first and second card are so elegant and not really a bunch of work. I do plan to make this card in several colors and add it to my web store. Can you imagine this card in ALL the PTI colors???
Anyway, the first one is made with Spring Moss paper embossed with Swiss dots. Next I stamped the filigree oval from the Sweet Love stamp set from PTI and punched it out with my new giga scalloped oval punch from Marvy.
Next I added the ribbon and the bow and attached the oval with dimensionals. Last I added the little flat back pearls.

So here is the same card done up with the Lavender Moon Collection. Paper, Ink and Swiss dot ribbon. I love this color for sure!

Starting on a white stamper's select base I added a matte of Swiss dots paper from the Stampin Up! Prints papers (I believe this color is the Rose Red)
Next I added a strip of black card stock punched with a new Martha Scallop punch. If you can get your hands on it I highly recommend it.
The main image is from a stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps and I just loved how it turned out with a tiny bit of water coloring. Plus I finally went and picked up the tiny tags dies from cuttlebug at Michael's. Perfect for little sentiments.

This last one uses the same image and just decorated a little different on the card. This is on the new Papertrey Kraft....which is as PERFECT as Heather Nichols Says it is.
Prima Flowers, Making Memories pewter hearts and the ribbon is a combo pack from K& Company.
I have to get to bed I am so tired I can hardly finish typing...lol Have a great day everyone!

Lazy Monkey
I have quite a few of her stamps and I really like them.So this card was for a customer who wanted something a little more masculine and also mentioned that the birthday boy liked monkeys. How perfect because these stamps had not seen ink yet (as so many of stamps tend to be these days..lol)
I started by using the distressed stripes (I think that is what it is called) Cuttlebug embossing folder, followed by a layer of always artichoke and mellow moss roughed up. Then I stamped my images onto very vanilla, water colored them and then cut along the leaves on the side. Next I stamped the bigger leaves, cut them out and made a canopy across the top. You can see the dimension of the layers in the second picture.
I got out my PTI Borders & Corners Rectangles and stamped the happy birthday image and cut it out. I layered it with dimensional stickers on top of the squiggly rectangle stamp also from the B&C set. Before attaching the sentiment block to the card, I punch a slot down the left hand side and fed the ribbon through. I wrapped the ribbon across and added the decorative brad from Making Memories and then placed the sentiment block on.
After adding a green strip down the inside right hand side (not pictured) and a birthday hugs and wishes sentiment, I stamped one more leaf and cut and glued it onto the corner of the envelope.
All in all, the card turned out great, my customer loved it and I thoroughly enjoyed inking up this cute little set. If you have a chance visit Lori at Clear Dollar Stamps, she has a very cute a big selection of stamps available. They are easy on the wallet, great customer service and low shipping costs.
Have yourself a great day and to my fellow Canadians, I hope your long weekend is wonderful!!

Off Topic
Anyway they also have a bunch of different animale roamin around and the local schools and such take kids ther on feild trips. McKayla (my oldest Daughter) got to go with her Dacare group. The Daycare had a bake sale to help raise money to fund the trip (which my awesome friend volunteered to make 6 plates of fancy decorated animal shaped cookies and were the first to sell) I also came to help out and got to take abunch of pictures and I just thought I would share some with you!
These are pictures from on top of the hill. The view is incredible and the Farm scene picture is just amazing. I love the great look of the original buildings all well maintained to reflect the actual times.
The first picture here the EDF worker is holding out a brand new bunny for all the kids to pet. How cute and only 2 weeks old. The second picture the kids were all giggling at the crazy chickens runny around like they had all just been fed some redbull. I have never seen such hyper active chickens! Oh and a little side note, my kid is the one with all the hair!
Picture #1 - McKayla barely able to peek out from under her hat, too funny it was huge! The kids all enjoyed checking out the lambs under the wagons. Picture #2 - Petting donkeys was a blast for the kids. They actually thought they were petting the donkey from Shrek because the teascher ha told them that they remindered her of the movie. When we got up there the one donkey was eating a piece of newspaper that had blown into the fence. That page last all the way from February 2006.
Picture #1 - the cutest little lamb ever and the black sheep of the family as well. Picture #2 - McKayla trying to see me from under her huge hat again. She kept saying "Mom, Mom, I cant see you!!"
So after all that I suppose I should still show you something "Paper Crafty" SO here you go and enjoy! Hopefully I will be back really soon. Can you believe I have not been in my Design Studio for 3 days?? Thursday was busy, Friday was the farm day and a night out with friends, Saturday was a great Family BBQ and Coffee with friends and today I plan to work in the yard. All in all a pretty good and productive Long weekend!! Hope your is great as well.Card Supplies:
