Get Well Soon with MME

This card is my new Favorite. I am head over heals with all the MME papers and really like how well the coordinate together.

I inked up the edges of the papers and set them up with dimensional stickers.

The sentiment is from the Garden of Life PTI set, The flower under it and the border around is from the set Boxes, Bags & Tags.


Another new favorite thing I have been doing lately is lining the insides with more then just blank white paper. It is a fabulous way to use up extra scraps of the same paper and makes the card feel finished!

Before Guide Lines

While I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Guide Lines Set (Thanks for sharing Char) I wated to create something along the same lines, no pun intended *smile*

So I actually whipped out my ruler and drew lines 3/4 inches apart and then stamped the design from Everyday Blessings in every other square and embossed it with a stardust glitter. Then I did the other squares with certainly celery, the same color as the card stock. When I was done I erased the pencil lines and viola!

Then I added some simple flower Primas that I have a ton of and have hardly used (aka I was hording them) Then I addedd the ribbon stem. As a final touch I used one of my build a brads in the center of the flower which has some of the background paper in the center.

I was pleasantly happy with the outcome. However now that I actually HAVE the Guide Lines set I need to ink it up and make some more cool background papers.

An Oldie...

But definitely a goodie! I LOVE this Garden Collage set from Stampin' Up! Yet I have never made anything with it (can you believe that?!?!)

Anyway I am currently working on a few things lately, a wedding invitation order (which I will be posting when complete hopefully later this week) and I also have a 100 Card order for the local flower shop that I supply.

They also needed Sympathy cards and so I decided to use this image. Some of the words in the background read thoughts of you so I thought it to be perfect!

I stamped the image in black Staz On so that I could water color it with out any bleeding from the black. Then I used old olive, so saffron, creamy caramel and really rust to color the flower and butterfly.

I really wanted the butterfly to stand out more so I used Crystal Effects on it and I LOVE how it turned out. This product is one that most often forget about but love. You should be able to click on the photo to enlarge it and see it better.

Canada Day BBQ Pictures

Well we had a GREAT day and jam packed with loads of fun. I am so tired and just need to hill out for a bit, watch the end of Hell's Kitchen and then off to bed. So here are some of the shots from my camera. am hoping to have more from Justin's Camera. (I KNOW he got some great ones but my laptop wouldn't read the card until I rebooted it and they had to get running so we did not miss the fireworks) So enjoy an see you all again soon.

The picture on the left is my wonderful Husband Curtis who needs more of a tan...lol ad then on the right is my oldest daughter McKayla taking a picture of e taking a picture of her...it's family tradition to do it!

This is a picture of one of my Bestest friends ever, Sarah. The picture is a little sideways and so is she and I wouldn't change her for the world. She ROCKS!!!

This is Sarah's DH, Justin just playing some Ball with my youngest, McKenzie!

On the left is Sarah & Justin's Son Evyn. H is the cutest little boy I have ever laid eyes on. Speaking of eyes, his are killer, Back off ladies we have pre arranged the marriage between Evyn and McKenzie! LOL The second picture is Evyn and another of my Best friends, Diana, Who also happens to be my sister in Law!

This is Tiff and her Daughter Jade, who is just completely played out. Tiff and I were pregnant at the same time, kinda. Our daughters are about 4 months apart.

This picture is from after all has calmed down. Everyone is on bed, the place is all leaned up and as I sat down to start writing this post our Oscarfish decided to eat another one of his tank mates. Funny thing is when we added the two gouramis (sp) two weeks ago we jokingly named them "lucky" ad " Not Lunch" Turns out we were wrong because this one is the one we named Not Lunch...tee hee. Wait til my DH sees this picture! Moral of the story...There is ALWAYS a bigger fish....HAHAHAHA

A Little of This...

...and a little of that! That is basically what is in this card. I started on a textured brown card stock (kind of looks like black but it is a chocolate browm...mmmmmmmmm chocolate like Big Turk...lol)

On the next layer I used certainly celery followed by the best white paper ever. PTI's Stamper's Select. Then I used some card stock sticker borders from My Minds Eye Tres Jolie Line (Thanks Bev!!!)

Then I stamped the thanks in chocolate chip (mmm I think I have some of those in the freezer). After all was said and done I still thought it needed more, so I added a few buttons from Basic Grey. I attached to my card using dimensional stickers.

On the inside I did a simple polka dot band down the side and then lined it with a piece of the card stock sticker. Most people throw this part out but I save them just for this. It is actually the thin strip in between the main stickers on the sheet.

SO that is all for crafty for the day I just wanted to mention I should have some great non stamping related posts soon after our Canada Day Celebrations. We are having a BBQ with a total of 9 kids and 8 adults and I am sure we will end up with some great shots since one of guests is our own personal photographer. He really has taken some stunning photos...(Hi Justin!!!) To all my fellow Canadians...Happy Canada Day Eh!!!
