Loonie Stampers Challenge #4

The Time has come again, Loonie Stampers Challenge time that is. First off we are debating doing the challenge weekly rather then bi-weekly, opinions? comments? I think we should. We are all rocking them out!
This week was Deanna's turn to make our challenge selections and the above color map is what she chose, nice combo eh?? (yeah I HAD to use the "eh" it is after all a Canadian Girls Challenge!)

I decided to make a pocket card. However Shortly before I made this card I busted the needle on my sewing machine but HAD to do some stitching on this card. So I took out my piercing set from SU and set them aside for later.
I started by taking the image from Simple Little Things (the PTI Anniversary Set) and stamped the background. Now since I do not have a replacement ink pad for my Aqua Mist I used Soft Sky (a retiring In Color from Stampin Up and I think it made a very suitable sub)
I then rounded my corners and folded the flap down. After I pierced up both sides of my card pocket I threaded some chocolate color thread and stitched it by hand.
My main image is cut out with Square Nestabilities and I left it in the die and sponged more Soft Sky over the square. Then I matted it on Pumpkin Pie card stock also cut out with nestabilities. I added the ribbon and tied it through a ribbon slider. I added my main image off the the other side and finished it off with a sentiment and these neat little metal circles I picked up from Zellers of all places.

The card for the pocket is pretty simple. Pumpkin Pie, Aqua Mist & Vintage Cream card stock all with the corners rounded and glued together. Then I stuck on a bit of my scrap ribbon (I hate to WASTE ribbon so I keep all my little clippings for things like this) and then added a matching tab. I made sure to add the tab on the opposite side of the card to balance out the whole thing. As a finishing touch I added a few criss cross stitches to the top and bottom side.
All in all I am in Love with this style, although a little time consuming I thin anyone would be touched to receive a card like his. I see more of this style in different colors in my future!

An Oldie...

Edited to add: Sorry about the lack of Paragraph spacing, Blogger hates me again today :)

But definitely a goodie! I LOVE this Garden Collage set from Stampin' Up! Yet I have never made anything with it (can you believe that?!?!)
Anyway I am currently working on a few things lately, a wedding invitation order (which I will be posting when complete hopefully later this week) and I also have a 100 Card order for the local flower shop that I supply.
They also needed Sympathy cards and so I decided to use this image. Some of the words in the background read thoughts of you so I thought it to be perfect!
I stamped the image in black Staz On so that I could water color it with out any bleeding from the black. Then I used old olive, so saffron, creamy caramel and really rust to color the flower and butterfly.
I really wanted the butterfly to stand out more so I used Crystal Effects on it and I LOVE how it turned out. This product is one that most often forget about but love. You should be able to click on the photo to enlarge it and see it better.
The rest of the card elements are listed below. Have a great day all and don't forget to tune in on Friday 6 am EST for the second edition on the new Loonies Stamper's Challenge. not that I have done my card yet) I cant wait to see what the other 3 girls cooked up!!!
Card Supplies: PTI Kraft, PTI Spring Moss, PTI Stamper's Select, Basic Grey Pattern Paper, SU Garden Collage Stamp set, SU Classic Ink, Black Staz On, PTI Summer Sunrise Swiss Dot Ribbon, Summer Sunrise Ink for sentiment, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Dimensionals.

You Did It!!

This is completely cased. I seen this card on both Becky's Blog and again on Taylor's Blog. I loved the cards and knew that as soon as I had the exclusive PTI Anniversary set in my possession I HAD to make it.

The pink one is made on sweet blush card stock, matted with berry sorbet and those inks used as well. Then I used the pink baubles that a friend of mines DH picked up for me from the Dollarama in Vancouver (Thanks Justin) Then I also added the grad cap and scroll, a little hard to see but cute none the less. The blue is made on aqua mist and is matted with blue bayou and matching inks. (although I no longer have my AM ink so I substituted with soft sky).

That is all for today my friends, I am tired and need to goto bed I think. Have a happy weekend!!

Long Over Due

..or so I am told! (Not pointing any fingers CHAR...lol) So I have been getting things together. you know summer time yard work, getting out and being active outside. I have been walking with my friend down the street, making some serious miles! I am down 5 lbs from the last week and a half. Yippee! But more to go. So to say that I have not been stamping much is an understatement, but alas, I have a some new things for you as soon as I photograph them.

Today I have a little card set and some SUPER stunning Cupcakes to share with you. One of our friends Tanis had her birthday a while back and plans didnt come together for her bday suprize so we did it belated. First I will show you the card I made her. The rest of the cards are made to match but for her to use and last I will show ya the cupcakes...SO CUTE you will want some too!

The card over there turned out super cute but was not quite enough. Sarah suggested that ad some "Dew Drops" her DH was kind enought to get for me while he was in Vancouver (even if I do own him a favor now...lol) So I added dew drops along the twill ribbon 2 on top and 3 below. I also added some clear sparkle stickles to the brown/pink layer of the ovals. It really is a shame I forgot to re-take my pictures before she got them.

So I Like how these all turned out. I did add dew drops to all the cards so that them matched and then of course wrapped them up in a PTI clear Card Box as the finishing touch! The paper I used, in case anyone is wondering, is from the Slutry Collection from Basic Grey.

And now the minute I know you have been waiting for (ya dont hide from it. I know I lost you all as soon as I mentioned Cupcakes...LOL) These precious little gems were baked and decorated by my very own friend Sarah. I was actually speechless when I seen them. Thats saying a lot coming from me.

Ok and I JUST realized she did not send me the picture yet but she will in the morning so I will add it in when I get it...aww shucks now you have to wait!!
OK...Here is the Picture...Weeeeeeeee!!! Are these not the most delicious cupcakes you ever did see??

Well Have great day. I hope all my American friends had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. One last thing...I GET TO GO SHOPPING FOR A BRAND NEW VW JETTA TODAY!!!! I am SUPER excited, yet I will still have to mourn the loss of my truck if we use it as a trade in.

See you again soon!
