My "not really a LSC card"

Today's post is a little different then it was supposed to be. I PROMISE I was going to make this card in line with this weeks LSC. However, after doing a little cutting here and there I just was not " feeling it". So this is what I am presenting instead. Sorry I do not have time today to start over. This card took 2 hours to make as is and I have a BIRTHDAY PARTY to get to soon.
My Friend Tanis turned the big 3-0 today and I needed a super special card for a super special friend. So before we continue I have to say another friend of ours is surprising her with a "wonky cake" or mad hatter cake whatever you want to call it. So i thought it would be incredibly fun to make a card that was in the same shape.
The top layer of the cake is glued together. Since the card is almost 11 inches tall I had to have a way to make it fold so that is what I did. The top layer is stamped and embossed white with a pattern from Papertrey's Retro Background set. Then it is dressed with a summer sunrise bow, a teal crocheted flower (made by yours truly) and a new leaf button.
The middle layer, although not chocolate like the cake will be, is still very delicious. I used my Damask Designs set to clear emboss on new leaf card stock. You know a little lace, little rick rack....mmmmmmmmm!
The last layer is complete with sentiment, more crocheted flowers and more ribbon. I REALLY hope that she likes it....and regardless I think I am going to submit this to Papertrey's GSS...so no copying...LOL I'm kidding.
Thanks fr coming folks, sorry it is not the proper LSC but I will try and make one this weekend. Gotta run...Thanks for stopping by today!

Thanks So Much!!

Hello all and happy Hump Day!
I had to make a few cards last week which was weird I have been so busy I barely have time to visit the most sacred room of my house. Its sad really. But I had fun making this card.

I used my Marvy Punches to punch out some pattern paper. Then I added the stem from this really awesome vine ribbon from Taylored Expressions. She has it in Brown and Black and Papertrey Ink has it in Green.

Of course the inside...and oddly enough it is almost y favorite part of the card.

OK well I don't have a whole lot left to say, I am hoping to get into my craft room today to make a super special 30th Birthday card for my bets pal Tanis....cant show you though, I think she still reads my blog from time to time. Wish me luck, my mojo has been hit and miss.

Spring Seed Packets

Every Month My Friend Sarah arranges a basket for the local Sylvan Learning Center to use as a raffle. She bakes and decorates amazing cookies, My friend Tanis makes the most adorable chocolates and I always do a card and some sort of paper project. We all stay within the theme of the month. This month was obviously for Mother's Day and since we are only just getting around to having spring I thought Seed packets would be super cute....SO I did a couple sets and here they are!
This packet is adorned with 2 of my new colors of Crocheted Flowers. The blue is completely new and the Goldenrod Yellow is a slightly brighter version of the yellow I ran out of a few months ago.

On each of the sets the band just slides on and off but works perfectly to keep the packet tidy and closed for great presentation.

Thanks for stopping to check out my blog today. Remember, if you would like some flowers you can always check out my Etsy Store or you can EMAIL ME for a price list and color samples to make a custom order!!!

Damask Anniversary

Today is My Oldest Brother's Anniversary. His wife, Rhonda is the one who I blogged about in January. She won the trip to Jamaica. Anyways that aside today They have been Married for 14 years (wow I feel Old, I remember meeting her like it was just yesterday) They don't read my blog so that should still give me time to get the card to them.
I feel I need to add....the little crocheted flower is in a color that will be available soon in my Etsy Store. I just received the colors so I am working on some sets. In the meantime if you want a custom order you can always email me. This particular flowers a fantastic match in color to Papertrey Inks Raspberry Fizz. Slice Butterfly

This is another Card I submitted this month to Cards Magazine! I cut 2 flourishes using my slice and turned then around and made then into a butterfly. I LOVE this card and will likely never part with it..lol. Card Maker not Card Giver, right Char?!

Here is a close up of the butterfly with the crystals through it. I cut pieces of my say it with crystals from prime to make the swirl.

Beside the sentiment I added a flower that I made and the crystal fit right through!

A Sketch..mytimess27

I decided to start doing some more sketches with my time, so what better then a "My Time Saturday Sketch" This is Sketch 27! I Love it.
I used a white card base and then cut strips of pattern paper for underneath. I used the dark chocolate bitty dots paper from Papertrey Ink and a lovely damask pattern paper called Sophisticated by Fancy Pants Designs. Then I layered Raspberry Fizz and Stampers Select for my Sentiments. I used the friendship quote from the Green Thumb Set and the "Seriously!" from Handwritten Notes. I also used the dotted square from Borders & Corners Squares to frame it, All from Papertrey Ink. Then I used a marvy punch (the blue one) to punch my flower. Then I crumbled it up, straightened it out and added my Crocheted Chocolate Brown Flower and a rhinestone Brad to the center. The blue ribbon across the bottom is dashes, dots and Checks from Michael's and the twill tabs at the top from Papertrey Ink.
This was a fun Sketch to do!!! I shall have to keep this up. I also want to add that I have the new colors I order in Crochet Cotton. I will be updating my Etsy Store soon and you all will be the first to know when I do. Colors Coming Soon: Chocolate, Hot Pink, Wasabi, Melon, Pumpkin possibly more!!

Flower Bouquet

Want to know the POWER of Crocheted Flowers? ok, I hate purple most of the time but I had some flowers that I made that go well with the lavender moon or Plum Pudding paper from Papertrey Ink. So now I am just in love with this little flower bouquet card!!

I made the base of this card from Plum Pudding c/s, matted with Lemon Tart and then put my flowers on white. My flowers are the colors I am calling, lilac, lemon and moss and I neatly tucked a piece of the leafy vine stuff from Papertrey Ink that Char bought me. It fits so perfectly!! I also used my Plum Pudding Swiss dot ribbon from papertrey Ink and a scalloped trim from making memories!

Here is the inside of my card finished with double layers of paper, more ribbon and another precious flower! If you want to order any flowers you can do so by visiting my Etsy Store, I can't wait to see you there!!

CPS102

Papertrey has paired up with CPS this time around and I HAD to do the sketch. I love it and it was so simple. Why do I not do more sketches? Anyway this is my interpretation of the sketch.

I used PTI Dark Chocolate card stock, the pattern paper is from a "Fashion District" Me & My Big Ideas mat pad, Matted on PTI Ripe Avocado card stock, Vintage lace, Homemade crocheted flower with a Que Sera Sera K&Company gem in the center. I stamped Feel better soon from Papertrey's Last Year Anniversary Set Simple Things!

This particular Flower is actually Crocheted Ribbon and edged with a delicate thread border. I wanted to show you this picture so you can see how flat they actually are.

2 for 1 Papertrey Style

Have you been following the countdown to one of the biggest, most exciting releases ever at Papertrey? If you have not, you should be! Today's post is two of the last challenges they have had. I didn't have time to do the color combo for the contest but decided to do the current challenge using the last challenge colors.

The challenge was to do the connect the dots puzzler which revealed a card sketch. So using the colors in the previous challenge I decided to mix it up a little by making the sketch into a 6x6 scrapbook page for my yearly book. I started by stamping polka dot basics in versamark onto Ocean tides card stock. Then added the center note paper from Making Memories, dressed with some pure poppy grosgrain ribbon. Then I added some huge square jeweled stickers from MM on the right hand side. Next I cut away some of the packaging that the jeweled stickers came on to layer my title. A little bit of going green, but it matched so perfectly I HAD to do it. I used my new favorite Fresh Alphabet for my title and out the year in my own print (I hate my handwriting but whatever...lol) Last but not least, I added a handmade crocheted flower using a variegated thread that matches the summer sunrise perfectly. Are you sick of my crocheted flowers yet? Don't worry that post on getting some is coming soon, I promise!

I love dimension!! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek and good luck to all participants that enter...can you image 95 rolls of ribbon for free?!? I would die! See you again tomorrow!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #26

Welcome to the 26th Loonie Stampers Challenge......This week was my selection and I thought it would be fun to do something we have not done before. I decided we should CASE any of the Loonie Stampers Previously posted cards. So you can blurf the blogs of our girls and find a LSC card you love and case it.

I looked through EVERY single LSC card and I decided on this one of Char's. I love its simplicity and how the heart is a focal point yet does not take away from the message.

On my card I cut some Spring Rain card stock, wrapped my ribbon around it and punched the Martha Stewart border and attached it to my card. Then I pierced it around the edge and drew in the "stitches" with a silver pen. I also drew in the top line of the border punch. Then I used my new FAVORITE alphabet stamp set, Fresh Alphabet from PTI in night of navy ink to make my sentiment. Last I added a hand crocheted ribbon flower. My Mom is brilliant. She found this funky thread like ribbon from Michael's and made a bunch of these flowers for me. I am in LOVE with it.
I also wanted to show you that the flower looks big but actually lays quite flat!
Thanks for coming to see this weeks LSC card and be sure to go and visit the other ladies.
P.S. These flowers are going to be available for purchase soon as well as my other ones. I am hoping Saturday or Sunday I will have all the sets made and pictured and ready for you!!

Wings to the Heart

I received my Papertrey order this month in record time, 6 days from the day of the shipping notice. Then I sadly neglected them for almost a whole week. So tonight I decided I Had to do something with the vine & floral images from the "with Sympathy" set. It is so pretty. I stamped the vines in ripe Avocado then I stamped the little 5 petal flower using regal rose from SU, an almost perfect match to the little crocheted flower on my card.

My mom made this particular flower from some colors she found in a thrift shop. I can not believe how one little crocheted flower can make all the difference on a card. Stay tuned as my mom and I continue to make a bunch of crocheted flowers. I do plan to make them up into sets and possibly individuals that you can buy! I just think the prices of some of the ones that are out thee are ridiculous. Anyway, I will let you all know when the flower sale will start. So, Anyone actually interested??

Selling Crocheted Flowers?

This was an easy card to make, providing you don't count the fact that the 2 huge flowers are crocheted by hand! But seriously, they make this card! Strategically placed over the ribbon with a black onyx type brad in the middle. I also love the line of Hero Arts bling under the sentiment.
So I was thinking of selling packs of crocheted flowers and perhaps individuals with minimum order amounts so you could pick and chose, any thoughts? Would you like to be able to get some at a MUCH cheaper price then the stores and catalogs?? Let me know what you think, I literally have 100's of flowers!
