My Little Actress!

Seriously, this girl should be a model or something! She will take any chance to take a picture and will pose forever...in fact all day if I let her! Anyway I altered these pictures a bit and did a contrast of Black & White and color layered together. All the paper is My Minds Eye. The edges of the paper and photos is actually brushed with metallic gold acrylic paints to match the chipboard flourish that is also painted the same. (the chipboard piece came from the Dollar store here and has no company named on it...weird)
I was on a roll with layouts so I do have at least one more to share with you in a few days.
Have a great Day!!

Flocked Hello

Just sharing a quick card!
This is a chipboard piece from SU's on board blossoms and basics (I think that is what it is called) I brudhed lemon Yellow Liquid earls over it and let it dry. Then I took a clear flower from the Heidi Swapp Clear Gel Blossoms and raised it up with dimensionals. It had a ton of holes in it around the center so I added the Everyday Blessings pattern paper underneath the gel blossom and then put the mini silver brads from queen and co in each and every hole. Then I finished it up with a random buttom tied with yellow twine.
The letters are a flocked die cut stickers from K&Company..LOVE THEM!
Thanks for stopping in to visit, See you tomorrow and have a great day!!

Lady in Red!

Here are some pictures from My dear Friend Melissa's wedding. The pictures are all Copyright to the photographer Justin Quinton! Who takes the most fabulous photos I might add.

This picture is in a park across from our City Hall. Very Neat, and I am the one standing behind the bride!
Big Funky Tree in one of our city's biggest parks. I need Family Photos done in this tree! This was funny. He took a picture of them kissing while we were standing there and the grooms oldest daughter (one in black on the left hand side) made a gagging noise so we all did it for the next picture. This truly is one of my favorites...HAHAHA

The Brides bouquet on a vintage brass looking chair. I LOVE how the sunlight dances in and out of the picture but never takes the spotlight from the flowers! Great shot JQ!

This was a cool photo as well. Love it!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #5

Here is this week's LSC picked by Charlene. She picked Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist and Lemon Tart for us to use along with any Floral Stamp Set from PTI (originally Garden of Life was picked...I think) SO I used Garden of life with mine.

Now, I also cheated a bit. About 3 weeks ago when I had the pleasure of meeting Char in MH, she brought me some printed pages of Becky's Demi Design papers. So This pattern had the perfect colors and I REALLY wanted to use more of her papers. I thought this was a good way to multi task while stamping...LOL

So I first cut the AM paper and inked the edges, matted it on white. Then I took Becky's pattern paper which is called "Recorded" from the Piffaro line. Seriously you NEED to go get them from her blog. I cut the paper into a diagonal to go across the page, then I trimmed all around the edges a bit more. Next I chopped it into strips, also cutting the white that separated the rows off. Then I inked each edge and arranged them over top the AM paper.

Then flower from Garden of life is embossed in Chocolate scented embossing powder, which sadly doesn't smell after it is heated, Bummer! I added the sentiment in Dark chocolate ink (PTI) and the lemon tart grosgrain ribbon. As a finishing touch I took my new White Opal & Lemon Yellow Liquid Pearls and made little dots.

Be sure to check in on my LSC Buddies to see what they have created!! If you are up to playing along please do and leave a link in a comment for us!! We would all Love to see what you do with this combo!! Little shout out to Maria & Donelda who I KNOW like to play along!!

* CHARLENE * REGAN * DEANNA *

Well Folks I am currently on vacation at Charlene's house but I do have a few posts ready to go for you!! See you all soon!

It's all about the cake!

Well! This weekend Past I was a part of my Lifelong friends wedding. We have been friends since we were 3 years old. Nearly 26 years later we are still buddies and have shared some incredible moments including the birth of her son (which I was coaching her through) and now her wedding!! While helping her plan the wedding, My best friend Sarah offered to do her wedding cake. Yes the same Sarah that has been responsible for all the wonderful baked masterpieces on my blog. Well I have to say folks she has truly out done herself this time.

First we planned a bride & groom pool party with all the bridal party as well. In the spirit of the pool party we went with a tropical feel. Sarah decided to test the waters of the fondant making world and make a themed cake to bring to the party. Here it is.

Is that not the most FABULOUS, SUPER, AMAZING cake you have ever seen? I love it and the fondant tasted SO good, and was definitely worth the work it took to make it. Right Sarah? :)
Now with out further ado, I give you the Wedding Showstopper!!!!

We did have a few issues with the roses as they were so pretty, but incredibly heavy so we had to make a few reinforcements for them and saved the day. Sarah (I know you are reading this even though you never leave me comments....LOL) You did a super fantastic job on this cake and you will forever be my own personal cake lady! Not only are each every one of your baked pieces of art delicious, but made with lots of TLC. Thanks for adding such a special touch to Melissa's Day!!!
Stay tuned, I will be posting more wedding stuff in the next few days as well as some more family pics. You know a few things to keep you occupied while I get my mojo back in line and make some cards. I am so much in with drawl and I have been DIEING to use some of my new Cuttlebug folders. I even got my grubby little hands and some of the new seasonal release folders!!! Love the spiderwebs! See you soon!

I got married to my High School Sweet heart! I know how sweet and sappy! But today (which is nearly 13 years of us being togeter) we have been married for 7 Years and I can honestly say that I would not trade him for anything. He is my biggest supporter, comfort and truly is a great foundation for our family! We met through a friend of mine, Sarah, she was in some of his classes and kinda liked him..LOL I finally seen him one day when she pointedhim out and made a comment about his behind and I said yeah whatever your crazy and now here we are. We dated, we moved in together, got married, moved from Canada to New Mexico USA, had our first Daughter and then moved back home, had another daughter and here we are today!

It seems to be such a short time in comparison to someof the mariages in our families. My parents would have celebrated 35 years this year if Dad had not passed. Curtis' parents just celebrated 37 years, My Dad's parents celebrated their 63rd in July (I know..HOLY CRAP!!!) my moms parents and signifigant step parentsa have both celebrated 39 years and te list continues to grow. My 3 brothers are all married, no divorces. SO with all that positive Marital energy in our families I am thankful for the love that Curtis and I share.

Here is a few photos from our big day, but I tell you if I could have a do-over with Curtis I would change so many things about our wedding. Regardless He is the BEST and I love him 100%. Love you babe!!

My Mommy Made my dress from scratch!!

Here is me and my 3 Brothers. From left to right: Cory (oldest), Pj (Patrick Junior, third) Myself (I am the youngest) and Chris (second oldest) and the four of us are still extremely close!!

Oh! Butterflies

Don't you just love this wonderful paper and stamp sets perfectly coordinate to each other??? Seriously Nichole Heady is a design GODDESS. If I had paper that had a matching stamp set to stamp the paper, I would buy ALL of it!!

I started this card on the PTI Vintage Cream, which I have to say I have been neglecting. What can I say I Love the Stampers Select so much, Thanks Char for turning me on to it *wink*. I took out the Chocolate remix paper pack that is to DIE for and stamped the bigger butterflies with sweet blush and then with the smaller butterfly stamp I stamped spring moss into the centers of the big flowers. Once I was done that I added crystal effects over all the butterflies I had just stamped. Then I stamped the matching large butterfly from the set on sweet blush c/s and covered it with crystal effects as well as the 2 small chocolate butterflies.
After the crystal effects all dried, I added these cute little pearls from hero arts and then I layered the pp on sweet blush and wrapped chocolate satin ribbon around and tied it in a simple know after adding 2 strips of sweet blush satin as well.

Just a hint: I used glue tape the stick the oink strips together in the shape of an "X" and then put a bit of glue on the back so it would stay in place as I tied the chocolate ribbon. Worked like a charm. I did not have to fiddle around with the ribbons at all.

The sentiment is from mixed messages stamped in dark chocolate on vintage cream c/s and cut out with a SU oval punch and layered on another oval of sweet blush. The last little effect was adding the teeny tiny butterflies on either side and finished them off with crystal effects.
Thanks for stopping in See ya again soon!
Supplies: Vintage Cream, Sweet Blush C/S, Chocolate Remix PP, Chocolate & Sweet Blush Satin Ribbon, Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush & Spring Moss Perfect match Ink, Butterfly Kisses & Mixed Messages Stamp sets all from Papertrey Ink. Suck it up, Buttercup!

Sorry for the bad photo, but this card was a special order for the flower shop and I was in a hurry. The flowers are actually much brighter yellow then then appear. Anyway, Those flowers are my best attempt to stamp a Buttercup flower. The owner of the flower shop wanted some cards that said "Suck it up, Buttercup" so I printed the sentiment on computer and had to build around the saying. Without an actual buttercup to stamp this is what I did.

Lavender & Chocolate

I am in love with The Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate paper combined with....well anything and everything!! There is not a color on this planet that does not look spectacular with this paper!!
This card is made of dark chocolate, plum pudding, stampers select white and the guidelines paper all stitched together. I used the new Stampin' Up! scalloped edge punch to do the white border in between the two beautiful patterns from the guide lines patterned paper. Before I mounted it on the plum pudding card base, I added a bit of sweet blush grosgrain ribbon (PTI) and kraft taffeta (SU).

Next I cutout the flowers with my Cuttlebug and stamped them with lavender moon and dark chocolate (and yes that IS a bit of Crystal Effects in the centers of those pretty flowers) Then I stamped the leaf cluster from beautiful Blooms in dark chocolate and cut them out and stuck them here and there with mini glue dots.

The inside is done again and this time I did stitching on the inside to match also. And weird no sentiment on this card yet. I couldn't decide what kind of card this should be so I guess will leave it blank until I need a card and then I can just add whatever I need to at that time.

See you tomorrow......Oh and as a side note. I do have a few posts scheduled as my BFF's wedding is coming up on the 16th and I happen to be the maid of honor. I will post pics hopefully as well.

Masculine Birthday Card

Just a short note to go with this one. The stunning paper is from MME!! Have I ever mentioned how much I love that paper? Well I do! A Lot! and I have hoarding issues with it and basic Grey in particular.
Anywho, The little metal arrow on a brad fasteners was actually from a dollar store. Our dollar store is mostly crap but from time to time they have one or two good things. That is it that is all...Oh and Hey Y'all....PTI Countdown starts today, why not check it out over at Nichole's Blog!!

Cozy & Warm!

Ahhh! I can actually picture a quilt like this wrapped around me and my DH this coming winter, oh the warm thoughts. Anyway, I finally had this chance to play with my new Quilter's Sampler set from Papertrey Ink.

First I embossed Swiss dots onto Vintage Cream card stock and then wrapped some satin ribbon from top to bottom and tied it in a bow. The ribbon is fed through a slit in the top fold of the card.
Next, stamped the quilt block pattern a bunch of times onto PTI kraft, sweet blush and aqua mist card stock. Then I stamped the same pattern onto the alphabet and dots pattern paper from the 6x6 Chocolate Remix patterned paper from PTI. I used my kraft knife to cut out the center pattern from the kraft and the pattern papers and adhered them to the blocks. Then I took groupings of 4 squares and mounted them on dark chocolate card stock and a scalloped kraft matte.
The finishing touches on this card are the colored baubles (pretty good match I would say) and the stamped tag held on by the curly thing-a-ma-jiggy<<

And so as not to disappoint, here is a glance at the inside. I stamped the same block up the side and used my aqua writer and re-inkers to colors them in.

Thanks, once again, for stopping by to visit me today!!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #4

The Time has come again, Loonie Stampers Challenge time that is. First off we are debating doing the challenge weekly rather then bi-weekly, opinions? comments? I think we should. We are all rocking them out!
This week was Deanna's turn to make our challenge selections and the above color map is what she chose, nice combo eh?? (yeah I HAD to use the "eh" it is after all a Canadian Girls Challenge!)

I decided to make a pocket card. However Shortly before I made this card I busted the needle on my sewing machine but HAD to do some stitching on this card. So I took out my piercing set from SU and set them aside for later.
I started by taking the image from Simple Little Things (the PTI Anniversary Set) and stamped the background. Now since I do not have a replacement ink pad for my Aqua Mist I used Soft Sky (a retiring In Color from Stampin Up and I think it made a very suitable sub)
I then rounded my corners and folded the flap down. After I pierced up both sides of my card pocket I threaded some chocolate color thread and stitched it by hand.
My main image is cut out with Square Nestabilities and I left it in the die and sponged more Soft Sky over the square. Then I matted it on Pumpkin Pie card stock also cut out with nestabilities. I added the ribbon and tied it through a ribbon slider. I added my main image off the the other side and finished it off with a sentiment and these neat little metal circles I picked up from Zellers of all places.

The card for the pocket is pretty simple. Pumpkin Pie, Aqua Mist & Vintage Cream card stock all with the corners rounded and glued together. Then I stuck on a bit of my scrap ribbon (I hate to WASTE ribbon so I keep all my little clippings for things like this) and then added a matching tab. I made sure to add the tab on the opposite side of the card to balance out the whole thing. As a finishing touch I added a few criss cross stitches to the top and bottom side.
All in all I am in Love with this style, although a little time consuming I thin anyone would be touched to receive a card like his. I see more of this style in different colors in my future!
Thanks for stopping in to catch this week's addition of the LSC, be sure to check out the other creations by visiting these links:

Kiwi Kiss meets Demi Designs

Last Friday (August 1st) I had the honour of meeting my good friend Charlene in person. She is so sweet and wonderful and I only wish she had more time to hang out! She did however bring me some delicious paper to drool over.
Becky from Hemidemisemiquaver has been designing her very own paper for free online. All you do is save the files and print them off. My printer is currently broke down and I am trying to decide to repair or replace (I love my printer) Charlene was so kind and printed some of the Demi Designs paper to play with in the meantime!!
This is the first card I made with it. As soon as I pulled it out of the envelope I thought it would be a great match with Stampin' Up!'s new In Color, Kiwi Kiss. I trimmed the one design, called Zwinger, and mounted it on Basic Black. Then I used my nesties to make an odd kind of flower (the black and Kiwi layers) Then I cut the flowers from my cuttlebug and stamped it with black and kiwi kiss from the new Floral Frenzy Set. Then I used Spring Moss twill (which also matches this pattern paper nicely) and used it to make a stem and some leaves. I then made a triple layer scallop edge in 3 colors to stamp the sentiment on, added the brads from making memories, which also match incredibly well.

As a last touch I stayed in tune with my current addiction to using crystal effects (someone help me I can't stop!!!) and I filled in the flower with it. I like how the crystal effects intensifies the colors beneath it.

And as always, the inside stamped to match!

Thanks for stopping in to see my card of the day. Please head on over to Becky's blog and check out the "Demi Design" label found on the left hand navigation bar of her blog. Download them, Print them, you will NOT regret having done it!! oh and best of all......IT'S FREE!!
