New Design Studio Coming Up!!

So I have been longing to have a bigger, better space for my creating pleasure, upstairs. I have a 5 bedroom house, but only 2 rooms are upstairs and 3 down. So, one upstairs is the master bedroom and the other has always been for the girls. After McKenzie was born and we discovered she is a super light sleeper, we moved McKayla downstairs to her very own room. (It was actually the Guest Room that she got, only 3 year old I know with a queen size bed...lol) Anyway, she loves it. She also has the smallest of the rooms downstairs set up with all her furniture (yes actual "mini" furniture, couches and all) as a toy room, fully equipt with her tv and dvd player. The last room downstairs, I painted and turned it into my craft room, although we used to have it as a computer room. We brought them computer upstairs a while ago and it just stayed.

The next portion of the story is this.....I barely get to go downstairs to my room until after the girls are in bed and I really would like to be able to do stuff during the day. The solution is to put McKenzie downstairs and bring the craft room upstairs, so we are playing musical rooms. We put her downstairs last night and I have moved most of my stuff out onto the pool table. I went to Rona for the paint last night before I picked McKayla up from daycare and took her to Gramma's house. Then after we put McKenzie to bed (after taking apart the crib moving it and setting it up again downstairs) I started to paint.

I am doing it in 2 colors and neither of them are blue. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? I know, but I am actually getting sick of the blue on my walls. Next will be to cover up the blue in my bathroom. I also picked these colors because I would like a more grown up, tasteful color, that would not require repainting should we ever decided to sell the house. I am going to keep the colors a secret until I reveal the pictures in a few days. But here are the (aweful) before pictures.

As you can see, the people we bought the house from really like sponging.
YUCK!! and it is proving difficult to cover.

And best of all she did it ALL the way around the entire room. We left it when we moved in because we didn't have time to paint. Well! Bye Bye sponge painting.

These litle Teddy bears (not even really cute) are a pain in my A**! She also had stenciling done in this room, both bathrooms, one bedroom downstairs and in the kitchen. The dark spots and the blue practically climb out from behind the new paint...LOL So I painted then first and that way they get coated a few times and then....BYE BYE TEDDY BEARS!!

So there you have it. I will return, hopefully soon, with some better looking pictures. In the meantime, I have to go clean up my house as my neices & nephews are all coming over tonight so that the kids can all exchange there Christmas Presents together.

Have a great day & a Happy New Year if I don't see you before then~~Jewels

Canadian prices going lower

Well who wouldn't be happy about this? I was just reading some updates on the Stampin Up Demonstrators website when I stumbled straight in to the one titled "Canadian prices going lower"(GASP!!!) I think my eyes popped right open as far as they could and I suddenly had the urge to get up and dance like a complete retard in my livingrom. So of course, my DH looks at me like I am clearly insane....and perhaps he is correct. So anyway, here is the update:

Canadian Prices Going Lower! December 21, 2007

Stampin' Up! is happy to announce that the prices in the Spring-Summer Collection 2008 are going down! You may have noticed that the prices in your new catalogue are already lower, but with further evaluation of current circumstances, we have decided that the pricing warrants a further reduction of 7 percent! We are excited about this further development and hope you will be, too!

Unfortunately, the timing required to determine the catalogue pricing meant that this additional reduction was not ready in time for printing, so the prices listed in the Spring-Summer 2008 Collection, as well as the Occasions 2008 Mini Collection, are inaccurate. This adjustment will be valid for the full cycle of the catalogue, including the upcoming mini, so to help you with this new pricing structure, we will provide you with a price conversion sheet that you should print out and keep with you, and hand out to anyone who receives a catalogue. We will post an announcement when this list is available. OEX will be updated with correct prices, so they will be accurate when you go to place your orders on January 2, 2008. OEX will calculate the 7 percent reduction on individual items. If you choose not to utilize the price conversion sheet (or do not have it on hand), and you take the 7 percent reduction after you add up your order total, before tax and shipping, you will see a slightly different total.

With the adjustments in Canadian pricing, many other factors have been considered:
Starter Kit: The price of the starter kit will remain at the new, lower price of $260, as printed in the new catalogue, so a further 7 percent reduction will not apply. The kit remains a fantastic value, and we will consider promotions in the future to make this kit an even greater deal!
Supply Items List: The new supply list will be posted on January 2 and will reflect accurate pricing. We evaluated each item on the list individually, and pricing was determined based on several factors; therefore, you won't see a straight percentage reduction across all supply items.
Promotional Levels: Current promotions, such as the Spring-Summer 2008 Preview Brochure promotion and Sale-A-Bration, have qualification levels attached to them. These will be reevaluated, and new levels, where appropriate, will be posted under Specials & Promotions when they are determined. Please check back for the latest information on these opportunities!
Hostess Benefits Plan: There will be one change to the hostess benefits chart, effective until June 30, 2008. The current level for a hostess to qualify for benefits is $225, and we have dropped this amount to $200. All other levels and details will remain the same. With the lower pricing, when your hostess reaches her hostess benefits levels, her free product dollars will now go further than before!

Career Plan: As we are in the middle of a Stampin' Up! year, we are unable to effectively adjust the career plan requirements and levels. We hope that the new pricing will encourage your customers to continue to buy from you. We will monitor the impact the new pricing has on career plan performance, however, and may run promotions or offers to help compensate for any imbalance you may experience. Any permanent adjustments to the career plan based on these new developments will be done for July 2008 at the start of the new Stampin' Up! year.
We hope the benefits of these new changes will outweigh any inconvenience you experience. We will keep you informed of any further details as they become available, including the new price conversion sheet.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!!

Catching Up

So today I am just playing catch up. I have been finishing up some Christmas projects. I am just about done a pregnancy Journal that a friend ordered, I also got my Gifts for The wonderful people at Fresh Flowers & Gifts done. I even had Curtis come home early from work on Thursday so That I could rush over before they closed. Then after I got back I realized that I had rushed to get their calenders done (I made one for each employee) and then I forgot them...argh! I guess that gives me an excuse to go back and drop them off and perhaps purchase some beautiful flowers for my Christmas Dinner. Check out their website HERE. Another wonderful site designed by Marlyn at Gaslamp Village.

Anywho!! I also got some running around done this evening I went and dropped off Michelle's Christmas present and I CAN NOT wait until she opens it, I have been holding out on that eauty for 3 months!!! So now I have to go and finish Sarah's stuff and get them ll wrapped so they are ready to go tomorrow....So I shall bid thee farewell in the hopes to get some more stuff done and perhaps get to bed at a decent hour (Gasp!) Early, I know not likely but all I have to do is be i bed by 4 am and it would be earlier then the last few evenings.....errr mornings?

Time Well Spent

At the beginning of December my upline, Heather, had a christmas party at her house with 7 of us all together. We had a blast and I got to meet some great people. Krista, Carmen (who made cruise a few times....can you imagine??) Chris, Melody & Sam. We each brought a project and enough stuff for everyone to make the same thing. So she had 4 cards tables pushed together into a big square, we all sat, munced on snacks, drank coffee and made projects.

SO, this is what I brought. I used the set that Stampin' Up! so graciously gave to all the demos for free. Did some watercoloring & Masking (2 of my favorite things to do. I think I need to get this set out and do some more with it. Perhaps the best time for me to get it out is when I start doing some more scrap pages. Ok well next post...lol I will catch up and then I have t go rock out some more things....AHHH Christmas is almost here!!

Papertrey Ink Release

WOW! That is all I have to say about the new releases from Papertrey Ink. I am absolutely heads over heels with them right now! I love small tidious things and that includes the latest stamp set release. LIMITLESS LABELS is a great jam packed set for creating great labels on candy & Chocolates. Hershey's Nuggets work perfectly with the set. Also Nichole has cleverly designed the background image stamps to PERFECTLY coordinate with the Avery Address labels (8160) How fantastic is that? Well I think it is PERFECTLY SWEET! I will definitely be posting my projects in the future! In the meantime feel free to ceck in on Nichole from Papertrey Ink at her BLOG or her wonderful WEBSITE.

Gingerbread House

TAA DAA!
The
House I made with McKayla! We got a little Wilton Kit from Michael's. She has a blast and she was a great little "helper decorater chick" Yes those were her words. I have to admit she reallywas, with the exception of the next photo to the right. I was trying to put the house together and she came and wrapped her curious little fingers over the edge of the counter in hopes to sneak a peek at things and CRASH! The end peice went crashing to the floor so I had to do that peice in a sort of mosaic fashion. After the house was all decorated and so on it became an öpen Concept"house when the back peice fell apart.LOL Luckily it didn't effect the rst of the house and my ginger people will just have to whip out their Parkas and touques! (For some of my non Canadian friends that translates to Jackets and Hats) hahaha Totally joking with you!

OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! New Catty Alert!!

Well! The new Catalogue or SU! has shown its VERY pretty face, and with the help of some SCS members it has been spotted in amoungst the clutter of their "Messy Desks" photos. Clever way to reveal the new stuff. I however am going to make you wait...HAHAHA It will be worth it. Lots of new flowers, sentiments and DS Papers. I think I could bankrupt myself on that alone.

Then to top it off I have been reading on Nicole's Blog >>Here<< and I think I will be ordering some new stamps from there as well. Just got my last order (minor blip corrected by there FANTASTIC company, props to Superb Customer Service!!) Anywho....I see an add on set to the Holiday Treats (perfect set for decorating Hershey's Nuggets in case you were wondering) Ey yi yi!! Lets skip Christmas presents for me and hook me up with some GC's and I would be some Happy Chicklit!! May have to send a link to the Gift Certificates to my DH's inbox...lol

Ok well that is about all for now. I have more to show you but have to go catch up on some things I was Supposed to be dong rather then reading 22 pages of Splitcoast forums...LOL Hey I know some of you out there were doing the same thing!! So perhaps I will come back and post this evening...or I will post after I get my Caty in my mailbox....I shall be stalking the mail guy tomorrow...Happy Stalking my Fellow Reginal SU Demos!

Awesome Cards

Update January 17, 2008: Anyone linked to this page hit the "Card Felt Greetings" title above ^^^^^To bring you to my current update posts. :)
Just want to add the pic in here quickly so I can get my butt to bed. I will come back tomorrow and update everything (if I remember)
My favorite Cards this year

The card above is made using the Stamp set SNOWFLAKE SERENADE from PAPERTREY INK. If you have not checked them out yet....pssst now is a fine time to do that by clicking >>>HERE<<<>

This card I made with Stampin Ups Wrapping paper available throughout the Christmas season only. nywho, I wrapped it over cardstock, added ribbon and made it look like a present. Then I stamped the sentiment from Wishing you cheer set (SU) and attached it to look like the gift tag. BTW: That is Martha Stewart Ribbon...LOVE IT!

Sweet Simple and EASY! I first made this card in Purely Pom, Soft Sky and Always Artichoke....I think I like this better! (paper & stamp from SU)

Tag Time!!

So I have had the Set Tags For All for a super long time and I was feeling like I wasted my mone because I had not even used them. Tonight finally had the chance and liked some of the stuff's outcome.

I have to say though that I do perfer the ones that are embossed compared to the ones that are just stamped. I did however only stamp them on paper and i didn't back them with anything or add ribbons, but I had a reason for it. I wanted to a Band aid tin to put the tags in as well and I still wanted to be able o fit lots in there comfortably. So here are my pics!!

Super easy to make and so darn cute!!

New Pretty Decorating!!

That's Right! No cards today, however some super cute items I have been LONGING to try for a while and did not have time. After I was puked on by my 1 y/o and finally got company gone and some time, it was nice to escape to my peper world. So sit back relax and check it out! (I am totally proud of these things) :)

So Saturday afternoon I planned to do lots of things and somehow my whole day slipped by before I even knew it. I did however manage to get at least this done. I wrapped Candies and Chocolates. Ok, now I just have to say.....HOW CUTE ARE THESE???? Just some simple chocolates and bars and candy picked up in Safeway wrapped in the most beautiful Stampin' Up! Holday wrapping paper. Then I took a few of each kind and put them in a card cello bag (Only thing I have available at the moment) Then I used the same wrap as the topper added the "For You" stamp from the Holiday Treat set at Papertrey Ink available HERE (and I do highly recommend her stamps, they are the best acrylic stamps that I have experienced) I added a silver embossed snowflake, also from that set, and voila!! Too cute and I have to make a zillion more of them!!

Supplies: Wrapping paper from Stampin' Up!, tape, hershey's mini bars (sorry can't remember what they are really called) Hershey's mini cookies & cream bars, Mini Mentos rolls all purchased bulk from Safeway, cello bags, Stamps from Papertrey ink, emboss powder & close to cocoa ink from Stampin' Up!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This Beauty s going to be a Christmas present for a friend of mine that absolutely LOVES baking. She has taken the wilton cake decorating class and can do some pretty sweet looking cakes. She also loves all kinds of cookies, cupcakes and anything baking related. So I thought it would be a great gift to make a recipe box for her. I really hpe she likes it as I think I might have a hard time giving this away...LMBO!!!
Anyway, I used the smaller size tin from provo craft. I think it roughly measures 2.75 x 5.5 or something like that. Then I used my new BEAUTIFUL Designer Series Paper Le Jardin from Stampin' Up! I love love love this paper and I think I will be ordering more before the new catty comes out in case it ends up gone. So I also used some Martha Stewart Acrylic Alpha stamps and I just have to say.....they are beautiful, I love the pattern inside the letter but the stamp itself wasa tiny bit disappointing. I say this because they dont cling very well. I had troubles keeping my letter on the block. But honestly that is my only complaint. Sometimes you just think you should get your money's worth espicially when you can not use a coupon with her stuff. None the less I probably will use this alpha set again but I wont buy any more. Back to the topic...This box is super cute I am SO proud of it but still have to figure out what I am going to use as dividers and what not....but I think I will make recipe cards to match.
Supplies: Le Jardion paper, close to cocoa ink, buckaroo blue ink from Stampin' Up!, Also used: tin from provo craft, Martha Stewart Acrylic Letter Stamps and tan ribbon. Other ribbons from Michaels. Giga scallop punch from Marvy (also now available from Papertry Ink)
Ok Last but not least.... A cookie tin! ANd funny thing is I did this one for me but my incentive for getting it done finally is for the same friend that loves to bake. She is doing a pile of baking for gifts and I want to show her this and offer to do a few for her as well. Because I am tired I am only going to list the supplies and perhaps I will add more to it later.
Supplies: tin from Dollar Giant, grey cardstock from Michaels (value pack paper) striped paper from Basic grey figgy pudding series, martha stewart ribbon dove white, Stamps from papertrey ink (snowflake serenade & Holiday Treats sets) EK success circle cutter, scallop punch, circle punchs from Stampin' Up!
Ok well, that's all for me now I think. Yeah now that it is almost 4:30 am hahahaha nitey nite.
Seriously? Give me a break!
Ok I am sorry I have not been posting lately, but you know had it is....Christmas = Busy. I know bad blogger! LOL However, I was all set to accomplish several things today. First, MY christmas cards. I have been so busy filling orders that I haven't done my own. Ooops! Secondly I wanted to do some candy wrapping (that will be a full picture post one day hopefully soon) and I wanted to continue a bit of my "Wintertime Spring Cleaning" SO, I now bring you the vented portion of today's blog. If you are reading this, sorry or just don't read it because I have no where else to vent. People don't know how to just listen or whatever so my apologies and here goes.
Today I didn't get out of bed until late morning. (thanks to someone not bothering to wake me) I didn't sleep well at all. Both my girls were waking up all night, alternately (almost as if they planned it that way...lol) plus I am taking Champix to quit smoking and I find I am not sleeping as well on it. (which was going well until I went out one night and smoked with my drinks....silly move) That brings me to my next complaint. Seriously!! how hard is it to quit smoking when your husband still smokes around you??? Well, I will tell you...It SUCKS. I can go an entire day not even thinking about smoking until he walks in the door and lights one up. From that point on I want one all night and usually do. Grrrr
Also today my 3 Y/O daughter was a little additude queen, nuff said! My 1 Y/O played with the Christmas tree all day. Fantastic time of year where I spent the greater portion of the day putting ornaments out of her hand and back on the tree. As soon as I would grab it from her you would need earplugs from her screaming. ok so blah blahblah bathtime, bedtime...okie dokie. or not. McKayla threw a HUGE fit about going to bed and landed herself in bed anyways after a spanking. At that point she went to sleep without a peep. (well now aren't I the poet..lol)
Last but not least shortly before I am sitting here typing my mom phones me and is depressed and lonely so we were just talking about random things. I mentioned to her that Chris had one their cars hit while parked on the street and the guy left his name and phone number. So my mom starts talking about how they should phone the cops and what if this guy tries to pin it on them and screw them over so to speak. I said to her well he wouldnt be able to because HE hit THEM and a parked car surely didnt jump out in front of him and that had that of been anyone else (including Me) they would have done the same thing. If it is just a minor little dent or whatever who calls the cops you just trade info and sort it out amoungst yourselves. Well then she decided to jump down my throat and say "Why do you always have to argue with me? thats not why I phoned you. I phoned to see how you were and now I see your fine so goodbye" I told her no dont hang up I was not trying to argue I was simply carrying out a conversation with you and saying what I think. simply saying well anyone would have done the same thing and I am sure that the situation would be just fine. It is not likes its a big deal why would I want to argue over it, it's not even my car or my problem.
Anyway after that she just said well everytime we talk that I start arguing with her and also pointed out the fact that I have not talked to her in a while. Well, I am sorry but after months of confused disorganized life I HAVE to get m, my family and my house back on track. Does anyone else think it is totally selfish of me to want to make sure I can pay attention to my daughters ever growing additude problem? or the fact that my husband and I have argued more in the last 6 months then we have almost the whole time we have been together and I want to pay attention to that? OR the fact that my household duties have fallen so far behind that my laundry pile id taller then I am so I would like to remedy that as well? I spent 4 hours yesterday cleaning and all I did was my livingroom top to bottom and the front entry way. Lets not forget that t has ONLY been FOUR days since I talked to her!! HELLO!! I cant call her every day. i dont cal anyone everyday anymore. I just can't sit on the phone and expect any of this stuff to get done.
WOW, it suddenly occured to me that it hasnt even been that long I called her on thursday and she was laying in bed. Which brings me to my next point. Every time I call her in the last 2 weeks she has been laying in bed....well I feel bad disturbing her in bed at 3 pm!
So all that said, I got a few things done this afternoon but nearly as much as I wanted. This evening I was savoring the silence of the girls in bed, watched a movie with Curtis (so as not to let him feel meglected) and then the part f the evening I was going to spend having a shower and then doing a bit of scrapping has now been hijacked by my mood and postponed to a later evening then I had intended on. Now I am going to have that shower but skip the scrapping and try to get some sleep. I thank you for my massive rambling but I feel slightly better the I did...ok so i would perfer to spill on some listening ears of a good friend but it is after late and a good friend is no where in sight.
Busy, Busy, Busy!
I hate being so busy, but what can you do. I do actually enjoy it to a certain degree. I have a jam packed weekend coming up and wish I had a maid to clean my house so I can do the other stuff. Friday I have to take McKayla to day care, pay bills, grocery shopping. I have a 100 card order I am still working on that has to be in the mail soon. Then, Saturday I have 2 parties. The first one is at my upline's (SU) house. She is having the downline christmas party, so I have to bring a veggie tray (which I don't believe in just buying) Then I have to do a shoebox make-n-take for 12 people, 1 card for exchange, and then one gift item made from all SU products. It should be a blast.After that I have a card party a my house with my Sister in law and her neighbour & friends. My first one....yahoooooo!!
Then I am still hoping that I will be able to meet up with my best friend for her birthday celebration. We have been fairly disconnected recently and I have no idea why. She seems to be pushing me further away and not really tellig me her true feelings. That is one thing that she and I have agreed upon, she is a bad liar. So I can ask if everything is ok and she says yes and her face says no. So I hope we can eventually get things back in line. I truly miss the friendship we had. We were practically attached at the hip and now she is barely talking to me. I was mad at her a few weeks ago and told her exactly why (and I am over it), as she has always said how she appreciates complete honesty, but I guess that was perhaps a farce or she has something else bugging her and isn't saying. Anyways those are my thoughts even when I am too busy to be thinking about it, it is still burning away at me because if there is anything I hate it is to lose a great freindship because someone doesn't want to be honest and save a friendship how many years in the making. Cross your fingers for me, I hope it works out for the better.
Have a great and stressfree weekend if possible.
I will post some pics after the week end (if I remember) LOL
Catching Up
Well it has been a busy, yet pleasurable weekend. Some Shopping, drinks with friends, my lifelong friends 28th birthday with some board games, and bast of all....McKayla's very first Dance performance. Let me just say that little girl will be a permanent fixture on stage...and really she is so cute so why not!! HAha...anyways I just wanted to pop in and leave this little message for my readers that like to check in (and thanks for all your email I love hearing from you!!)
So I have another week of busy. I have a large card order that has to be shipped in about a week, I have kid check ups, a coffee date and .....2 card parties!! Thats right! The first one is at my Upline's (Heather) house for all her down line. Later that night I am going to have an actual card party. My Sister in Law's Neighbour asked if she could have a simple just make cards party with a few cards and maybe another "Project" So I am looking forward to this weekend very much!!
I will try to pop in with some new project pictures as soon as I can.(and boy do I have a good one for you all to see) Talk to you all later!!
Free Stamp Set
OMGoodness! Thank you Stampin Up!! I recieved today, the free set that they gave all the reps and it is SO cute!! I can't wait to use it. I wish I would have had time already but I had a busy day. I took McKayla to daycare and then met up with Melissa to get the card stand (mentioned in previous post) Then I got some work done around the house. Around 4 pm I got McKenzie up early from her nap and took the card stand over to the store I put it in and set up the new cards. They were SUPER PLEASED with it. I think it looks more professional and think I may have to have some more made for sure!
SO then I picked McKayla up from Daycare and took both the girls over to my Mom's as I was suppose to have plans this evening. Plans fell through (again) so I decided to accept a previous invitation to a game night at my friends house for her birthday. It was a blast and afterall I didn't want to waste a night where the kids were already at the babysitters. LOL Anyway, overall I had fantastic day. Now I need to get my butt off to bed, McKayla has a full dress rehersal tomorrow for her dance recital on Sunday. Plus I have to play with my new SET and some new papers and ideas that I got today. So, ta ta for now and hopefully I will get a chance to be back tomorrow with some cute new projects using my new Level 3 Hostess set!!!
New Card Stand
So After a sudden need for a Card Stand in a local store that sells my cards, I had to think fast on what I was going to do. After all how can I expect them to sell my cards if they are not even properly displayed, right? So I called my Lifel-ong Friend Melissa, and together with her man Robin they created this. Is it not divine?!? There are so many possible ways to display cards and best of all, look at the top....it is wide enough across to comfortably fit 3 cards side by side!! So all I can say to Melissa & Robin is this.....Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh and did I mention THANK YOU? So I am also getting another one the same only white for myself. Now I just have to wait for the price tag...and if anyone sees this and might want to purhase one I bet it can be arranged.
Simple Book
How cute is this? Well I am in love with this concept. Some simple plain coasters, combined with great paper from Stampin' Up! and a few more techniques and embellishments and VOILA!!! A great keepsake, or super special gift! You can see the original inspiration here on Nicole's Blog (Papertrey Ink)
I made this one for myself. Using the "Memories" stamp from the Define your life set, I thought That would perfect to use photos on the inside of m girls with my Dad (who passed away June 20 of this year) So anyway, the outside cover also uses the big flourish from the Baroque Motifs Set (my new favorite set) Then I have used some ribbon that I got at the local Dollar store and some prima flowers that I got from Paper Candy Productions. The paper is all Stampin' Up! Always Artichoke, Barely Banana & Designer Series Brocade Background.
To the right, is the inside when you first open it up. So the inside is done with the same papers. The stamp on the barely banana paper is embossed gold and accented with a rhinestone in the center. The stamp is from the Baroque Motifs set as well. The tan rbbon is just the basic ribbon available at Michael's.
This is the inside that folds out! I made mine with only enough room on the inside to have a journal spot and a picture. I will put a picture of my Dad & McKayla and on the other side I will do the same with Him & McKenzie. These fold outs I used the same papers as well as some Very Vanilla for the journal spots. I distressed the edges of the inner circle. I used the florish from the Season of joy set along the top and bottom using mellow moss ink. The brown matte is actually paper from the Designer Series Prints Close to Cocoa.
Supplies: SU Cardstock:Always artichoke, barely banana, close to cocoa, very vanilla. SU Designer Series paper: brocade background, prints close to cocoa. SU Ink:close to cocoa, mellow moss. Ribbons: misc from Dollar Store and scalloped edge from Michael's. Embellishments: gold emboss powder from stampendous (Michael's), prima flowers, rhinestones (Michael's), Foam Squares (dollar Store), Marvy Giga Scalloped Circle Punch, Marvy Mega Circle punch.
A Stampin' Up! sneak peek
Well I have had the privilege, as a SU Demonstrator, to see a sneak peek brochure of some of the great things we are going to find in the new catalogue that arrives in January. Let me just say this.....I CAN'T WAIT!!! I already want to order .... well one of everything.
I will be back in a few minutes with a cute little book I made with a friend the other night.
The Elevator Confrontation
A middle aged business man got on an elevator in downtown L.A.When he entered, there was a young blonde already inside who greeted him with a bright, "T-G-I-F."
He smiled at her and replied, "S-H-I-T."
She looked puzzled, and repeated, "T-G-I-F," more slowly.
He again responded with, "S-H-I-T."
The blonde was trying to keep it friendly, so, she smiled her biggest smile and said as sweetly as possible, "T-G-I-F."
The man smiled back at her and once again said, "S-H-I-T."
The exasperated blonde finally decided to explain, "'T-G-I-F' means, Thank God It's Friday." Get it duuhhh, you nasty minded old man?"
The man responded, "Well Blondy, S-H-I-T means, Sorry, Honey, It's Thursday. Have a nice day now and don't be late for work tomorrow!"
Catching Up
Well after some local drama, a lesson learned and caching up on normal household things. I am ready to catch up here. I talked about some great cards before I went on vaca, so here they are.
To the left is a fantastic card that I cased from a great stamper's site SCS. Have I ever mentioned that I love that site? Ok so, This card uses: whisper white & creamy caramel C/S, season of joy stamp set, whisper white craft ink - all SU Supplies. Sheer ribbon and gold cord gold emboss powder from Michael's.
On the right, is a blue & silver beauty!! Of course, my favorite colors. lol. Pretty simple card using ballet blue (I think) and bashful blue c/s, Silver emboss powder, season of joy stamp set & so swirly jumbo roller all from Stampin' Up! Paper Salon XL Alpha Stamps, and the Snowflake Brads which I can't remember what company they are...oops! Oh and the ribbon also from Michael's. Thats it for now I have more but have yet to take pics of them.
I'm Back From Hamilton
Well, I am back now and had a fairly good trip. Came home to some not so great things, but we will just talk about those later. During my trip I went out shopping a few times. My Grandparents took us out to Cambridge where there were some outlet type places and I got some cute socks for the girls for Christmas and I also picked up a few other random things there. Oh and I also picked up some cute cookie cook books and some other books for McKayla (my oldest)
So we also went down to Ottawa Street, to an outlet store there that has great deals on towels, linens and things. OMG!!! I got a KING SIZE sheet set 300 COUNT for 39.99. WOW!!! I couldn't believe it. Locally I can barely find kingsize, and then when I do I almost fall over looking at the price $60 - $100 bucks and higher. I don't think so.
So anywho, the same day we stopped into Tim Hortons for a coffee and it turns out that the one we stopped into was Store #1. The ORIGINAL store! Super cool!! On the inside was all the memorabilia from the original building. (they have rebuilt a newer store on the same location) They also have a bunch of the jerseys of little leagur uniforms, the different mugs and roll up the rim cups they have had over the years. So it was very cool and to think that when it first opened my dad used to go in there all the time. Gosh I miss him!!!!Ok so next I got in contact with a girl that i do business with on ebay. Turns out she lives just outside hamilton. So I called her up when I got there and we made arrangements to go shopping together (I will totally put pics of my loot in my next post) She picked me up before noon and we headed straight to the Scrapbook store she likes (and did I mention that the store is online as well and ships anywhere in Canada???? http://www.discountscrapbooksupplies.com/ ) After that she took me over to a resturant in the mall called "The Fox and The Fiddle" for some VERY GOOD food and she bought!!!
OMGOODNESSS!!!!! Thanks so much Candy it was s fun and so great to meet such a wonderful person. Not to mention the saved afternoon away from my mom who was getting my nerves a little. So Cnady, if you are out there reading this....THANKS SO MUCH!!! And call me when you decide to fly with the DH to Calgary! So I guess that pretty well somes it up...did a lot of visiting shopping and I will continue with the Judge in my next post...fingers need a break. lol
Burning the Candles???
Why yes, yes you can. However, I would still err on the side of caution as one always should while burning candles. Anywho, this evening I looked it up with other Split Coast Stampers to see if anyone had burned the candles and what happens to the tissue paper. Well They all said it would just singe the edges a bit but never take to fire.
I made a couple cute little votives to test the theory and the picture is the result from one (I burned three and they all looked the same). The Other thing people were suggesting (for the bigger, fatter candles) is to burn them down until enough has burned from the center and pop in a tea light with the tin casing still on. How Clever! Happy Candle Stamping!! I have also 5 new cards to show you (whoever is actually out there reading...lol ) But I have to wait for morning so that I can use the wonderful daylight to snap the. so for now I am off to bed at an early 2:25 am...lol.
Stamping on Candles...Who Knew?
Well I seen the tutorial over at SCS a million years ago I have been dying to try it and I even ran out and bought the candles right away. So over a month later here is my first try!! I Used the Haunting Halloween Set from Stampin' Up! The second picture is the larger candle's other side. I can't believe how easy it is. I was a little nervous at first not knowing how it was going to turn out, but alas I have to make like a million more because it is SO cool!! Also pictured is a Christmas one. If you would like to try this out here is the great tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers website. STAMPING ON CANDLES This one is made using the SU Set Season of Joy Available now in the Holiday Mini Catalogue . I used an In Color, Purely Pomegranite, and Handsome Hunter.
New Stamps!!! Woo Hoo!!!
WOOHOO New stamps all around!!
Ok so no pictures today, also no cars today. Last night we ran into a huge, HUGE, problem between my Mother in la and my eldest daughter. Let's just say I dont think I have to worry about them coming to my house for Christmas...lol. Ayways the only good part about yesterday was this....My Stampin'Up! order came 4 days early!!!! So I ordered a few things (yeah who am I kidding...lol) I have seen so many stunning cards done with the set Bronc Buster and decided enough is enough... I HAVE to have that set. After all I do live in cowpoke Alberta. Next I ordered the Stem sayings (really? who could live with out this set?) Also order Loads of Love. I had orginally opted out f getting it with my started kit and decided now that I do need it. Yes I said NEED and I meant it. ) let's see what else......OH NO!!! I forget, now I have to check. Ok it was also Baroque Motifs (love this set...so many things you could do with it) Last but not least (for sets anyway) I got the hostess set Oh, so lovely. very cool. I also order some ink refills and the Groovy Guava ink, refill & paper. LA LA LA LA so happy.
So this morning was kinda crummy due to leftover sadness from my 3 year old being sad with gramma. Then I checked my mail and had a delivery notice from Canada Post saying I had a ackage to pick up and had to pay $8.00 in duty (darn Customs) So I meandered my way to the local Post Office and sure enough it was my very first order from Papertrey Ink. Well the wait was 3 weeks (becaue I am Canada probably) BUT WORTH IT!!! I haven't even stamped with them yet and I already know that the quality and design is far superior to most others on the market. I think Papertrey Ink and I should get to know each other better....he he he. My Husband may beg to differ though. So anyway, I purchased the set Butterfly Kisses & also Holiday Treats....SPECTACULAR!!!
Then about a week ago I went back and ordered more. The designs are awesome, the storage idea is awsome (for those who dont know you transfer them on to the insides of a clear cd case, label the edge of cd case with a provided sticker and store neatly and organized at ther same time) There are lots of really great ideas in their gallery so have a peek. ast but not least, the creator, Nichole Heady has a fantastic Blog called Capture The Moment. so Be sure to check it out, check out her site Papertrey Ink, and buy some stamps you will not be disappointed! You will want to tear them open and brush off that list of "things you HAVE to do" and get scrappin'.
So to Nichole and the Team at Papertrey Ink, Keep up the great work & designs!!! I cant wait to see the next reveals (which is a monthly thing on the 15th ofthe month where they reveal brand new sets) Im sure I shall be back by sunday or so (maybe sooner) with some cards to show you. Big weekend this week, clearng up issues with my MIL, A family Gathering tonight to help my mom get through this evening (her would be 34th wedding Anniversary) but now Dad is gone. So it should be hectic...and then I have to start getting ready for my trip on the 2nd to Hamilton, Ontario...Can't wait!! and I MUST bring some stuff with me I can NOT go without!!G'day allJewels
Ok One More...Clear of Course!!
So I could not resist!! It is, after all, an obsession. I am completely in love with the transparent cards. I took the picture of this one up against a wall in my basement (yeah I know sponged walls......ick!!!) Anywho, I really think it helps draw out the fact that it is clear. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!What's the deal?? I cut my transparency in half (4.25 x 5.5) used my bone folder to crisp the fold. Then I used, yes again, the Timber Brown Stazon to wheel the watercolor vine roller up the right hand side. I set those aside to dry and grab my whisper white paper and cut it to 2 x 3.75. Then I cut the pattern paper from the brocade DSP and cut to 2.5 x 4.25. I stamped the image onto whisper white and sponged Mellow Moss ink around edge and lightly over entire image.Then comes the funny part (at least for me it was funny) Here I have all this scrappin' Stuff in my room and .... WHAT?!?! NO MARKERS....lol darn kids. I have not got around to investing in decent markers so I whipped out McKayla's washable Crayolas and used the raspberry color (which closely matches this years In Color, Purely Pomegranite) I used it to dot over the berries on the twigs. Then I wrapped the ribbon around and knotted it.Next I attached te paper pieces to the front, inside & back of transprency. I punched the scalloped circle from the pattern paper. (great way to use up some scraps) cut a 1 3/8 circle from Choc. Chip c/s then stamped the sentiment and cut using the smll oval punch. Also there is a hapy holidays stamped in Purely Pom. on the inside. Both sentiments are from the set: Punch Pals.So thats it!! I think next time I will shorten my card descrips and simply list all supllies at the botom....might be easier for me since I still have to look at my keys to type and a little more pleasing on your eyeballs!! lol
Covered Notepad
I think this little covered notook is great!! I think I might make a few more of these perhaps with a matching pen and a few notecards in a tote...What a great gift that would be. Super simple to make. I have a template from Stamp your Art Out. Cut the paper to 8.5 x 5.5 inches fold the right hand side over and glue (1.5 inches) fold over the left hand side (3.25 inches) and again (3.75 inches from left side) creating a "Spine" forthe cover. Grab a 3 x 5 notebook readily available at staples or walmart. Cover the back over notepad with tape runner and secure tot he inside right side of book. Embellish any way you like and presto!!! Done just like that. One more thing.....I do recommend double sided paper for additional ease of project.
It's All So Clear Now!!!
LOL Sorry I couldn't resist the pun! So here is my latest creation...oh ok, I cased it from SCS but then I changed it a bit. I can't remember who did the card on SCS but thanks!! I changed it by doing the card on a transparency (or also known as acetate ;) So anyway, I used my Timber Brown Stazon ink (yummy smell) to stamp snowflakes from the set The Snowflake Spot (Stampin'Up!) While that was drying I cut my layers of paper. Very Vanilla cut to 2.25 x 3 inches x 2 pieces, Chocolate Chip cut to 2.5 x 3.25 inches, Purely Pomegranite cut to 2.75 x 3.5 inches.
Then I stamped on the very vanilla layer around the edges with the same snowflake using the Purely Pom Classic ink. Happy holidays in the center from the Warest Regards set. I lightly added the snow flurries from the Snowflake Spot set in close to cocoa. Next I sponged around the edges with the close to cocoa ink...creating a bit of an oval window for the sentiment. I attached it to the front then added the brown to the other side. Next I did the second piece of the very vanilla and the purely pom on the back.
Layering like that seems t provide a nice evn balance tot he card, giving it the stability to stand up! Last but not least I finished of the card with ribbon tied around the fold int a simple knot. The ribbon I used is a burgandy sheer ribbon made by sheer creations, which I bought at scmichael's......err I mean Micheal's. (yeah thereis a story to that but we will save that fr another day) So until later....toodle ooooo! :)
Christmas "Fluffies The Cat"
I saw this on Splitcoast Stampers in a gallery (i'm sorry I can not remember whose it was) At any rate I finally recieved my Giga Scalloped Circle Punch made by Marvy that I ordered online from Scrapbooking Supplies R Us!! Ok, so I started with a standard Purely Pomegranite Cardstock (4.25 x 5.5) once I folded it I put it back in my cutter opened up and sliced an inch off the front. I cut a strip of paper 5 x 1 inch from the pattern paper in the Christmas Slab with Glitter from DCWV. and I cut another to go the other way. Then I cut a strip of Old Olive (5 x 2.75) and embossed it with my trusty Cuttlebug from Provocraft, using the divine swirls emboss folder. Then of course I stamped my fluffie from Stampendous on whisper white cardstock and backed it on a Purely Pom Scalloped Circle. I added a little ribbon to the endof the sideways strip and Voila!! So cute, So Simple!! All other supplies from Stampin'Up!
It's Twins
Is this not the cutest!!! Ok so I'm Bias because I am the one who just made it, but let's be honest this is cute! I had a regular customer email me and ask if I could make her a card for a friend that is having twins. One Boy & One Girl! Could you imagine? Not me, anyway, this is what I came up with.
I started on Close To Cocoa cardstock from Stampin' Up! (actually all supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted) On whisper white cardstock I stamped the alphabet block from the set "I'm Here" three times accross in close to cocoa craft ink. Then I added the Stardust emboss powder from Stamp n Stuff which is made by Stampendous. Then using the Giga scalloped circle punch from Marvy I punched one from pretty in pink c/s also one from bashful blue c/s. Then I stamped the hands (one of each to make a pair....lol) in the matching colors of the cardstock. Then I used the SU stamping sponges to ink the edges of the circles. Then I used the sentiment stamps from ...well i'm not sure where they are from I bought them at the local dollar giant. so I stamped them in close to cocoa and embossed them as well. I put the circles on the scallop with 3-d foam dots and then attached all the different layers.and finished it off with the ribbon (spolloribbon from Michaels) by punching a whole with my cropadile and tieing a simple knot.
Last but not least, I stamped the sentiments fron and inside (It's the small things that make life BIG from the Happy Harmony set & Conratulations from the warm regards set) I hope she likes it I think I may have to make several of these for single babies as well I can just leave the extra space open to se more of the alphabet stamp. Come on you try it too!!
Through & Through
What does that mean? Well, it means that the next few cards I am going to show you are CLEAR!! I finally dragged my butt over to Staples and picked up a package of over head projector Transparencies. So this is the first style I tried with ink, I then quickly rushed out to Michaels to pick up some Stazon Ink because it turns out it DOES make a difference....lol I have not had a chance to play with the Stazon as the inlaws have been here and so my stampin time was neglected. Ok, so back to the card. Here it is. I used: The transparency (obviously) from Staples & Staples brand, I stamped image on transparency from Stampin' Up! Priceless. Now I used SU Classic Black and it took forever to dry and still smudges easily. From what I have read on my Favorite Blogs Stazon is what we need to be using as it stamps on NON POROUS surfaces (Metal, Plastic, Glass etc) So the I stamped the pointsetta from the same set in Purely Pomegranite. I also stamped another one and cut it out and layered it on top with a pewter brad from American Crafts in the Center. Then I stamped Merry Christmas from SU set "Season of Joy" in classic Black. I layered the whisper white onto handsome hunter c/s. I attached it using my tae runner (I love stampin' up but sometimes I have to go with affordability so I use glue runner from Ad Tech which you can get at walmart. a 2 pack refill is almost always on sale for $3.47 CDN) I also cut an additional peice of HH in the same size to add to the inside which covers up and sitings of Glue. LOL. So then I took a peice of whisper white (left blank) and backed it with Purely Pom using the transparency as a sandwich!!
Now that all that ramble is done let me just say......I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE stamping on TRANSPARENCIES!!! I am going t do a whole bunch more, only I will use the three new colors of Stazon Ink. I picked up the Jet Black, Timber Brown, Blazing Red!!! I really wish they had white though....cause I want to do snowflakes and have never seen them in those colors...hahaha.
Ok so until my next post (in like 10 minutes...lol) Fairwell. I leave you with 2 more picks that did last night.
Fall Fabulous!!
Well my very good friend Michelle took some Stunning Photos of her cute little kids the other day, playing in all the autumn leaves. So I decided yesterday that I should do the same, and let's face it, what child doesn't enjoy playing in the leaves???
So I dressed them up in their brand new matching outfits (I know completely retarded, but whatever they are cute) Let them loose in the front yard and started snaping away! They turned out so great, I think we need to do more, wearing different outfits and in a bigger park area. Oh the scrapbook pages I could come up with for these photos! I hope you enjoy my ramblings today and also the pictures of my little cuties!!
The first picture (girl in pink) is my oldest daugher, McKayla, who is 3.5 y/o. The babyin the red is my youngest daughter who just turned 1. Anyways here are the reast of the pics and I will be back later with some cards that I finally got to try!!! Look out Transperancies!!
So Simple, So Elegant
So for the longest time I wanted to get the French Flair Background stamp from Stampin' Up! So once I became a SU rep I made sure that it was one of the first things I ordered (along with the other $900 worth in my first order LOL) so that was nearly 3 months ago and yet I still had not used it. So the other night I thought I would use it to make some Christmas cards. Well let me just say....These were the EASIEST cards I have made in a longtime! I normally make cards that are very time consuming and also use a lot of product, not this time. I think I will have to make many many more of these as gifts for my family & friends to use at Christmas time!! Materials used: Purely Pom paper & ink, Always artichoke paper & Ink, Soft Sky Paper & ink, whisper white cardstock, ersamark, Stardust embossing powder (cant remember the brand name but its the kind you can buy at Michael's) white satin ribbon, French Flair Background, Merry Christmas stamp from the Season of Joy set.
From B & W To Colour
This card turned out so cute!! I love this fun little snowman from SU's Merry & Bright set in the current mini. I also have fallin in love with all the cards using the faux stitching and just HAD to try some. So here it is. I used whisper white cardstock as a base, sky blue for the cardfront layer and always artichoke fr the filmstrip. Of course for the filmstrip look I used the spiral punch (also one of my new fav's) Then I used the 1 1/4 circle punch and punched out the circles on either end. The I put whisper white behind and stamped the 2 snowmwn just in basic black. I stamped a 3rd snowman on whisper white and punched it out using the 1 3/8 circle, mounted it on a sky blue 1 1/4 circle and then mounted it on the scallop cirle punch in always artichoke. Then I watercolored the snowman a little, including the bottom part of the snowman circle witha little sky blue (hard to see in the picture) then I used a 3-d foam square to mount right in the center. I then stamped the Warm Wishes sentiment from the Hugs & Wishes set using Always artichoke ink. o do the faux stitching I used a ruler to drw the white lines and then went over it with the perferating wheel from the Making Memories distressing Kit. VOILA!!! Done & I think I absolutely have to do this card some more with a variety of different images.....TFL!!
What A Week
Well after a wonderful weekend I had a horrible Monday, a relaxed tusday and a busy wednesday. This weekend My DH gave me m birthday present early, a brand new Bulova watch (stunning!) and then some friends and myself went out to a club and had a great time. Monday (my actual birthday) was horrible. My kids were full of additude, I had issues with some stuff I had ordered online that was delivered and I was just all around in a bad mood. My youngest daughter, McKenzie managed to get into the vaseline tub and got handfuls of it al over herself, table, toyboxes and the COUCH!! AHHHHHHHHHH. SO after that was all cleaned up I decided it was her nap time. Yes a much eeded break. Then I get her up from naptime only to discover she had removed al her clothes and then her diaper and had spread her poop all over the place!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. and then I was supposed to goto a lounge for a few drinks and had no one that was invited show up. AHHHHHHHHHH At that point I should have just crawled into bed until next week. Instead I went to safeway, bought a single long stem rose and went and laid it on my Daddy's grave and jsut cried for alf hour and THEN I went home.....tadaa thats my last couple days. So after writing this I am going to go surfing for inspirations and get making cards again.I also have come accross something else that just pisses me off! When a person purchases stamps, they are under the impression that they have no purchased the rights to use this image. However I have recently been made aware of a thing called the Angel Policy. I think it sucks in most cases. You can buy the stamps, make stuff with the stamps, but god forbid as a stay at home mom you make cards and sell them cause your not allowed in most cases. You can sell them at craft fairs (which is ok if there are any that happen in your city) but not in brick & mortar stores or permanent Internet sites! Pfft! I wish I had the means to challenge this concept. I now have thousands of dollars in stamps I have collected over the last few years that I can not use to make a little money. I give credit to the images and yet it stil does not matter....GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ok I have vented and no I am going in search of TRUE ANGEL COMPANIES!!!
Cute 'Lil Pumpkin
I designed this little card after a friend of mine told me she is planning a baby shower for a girl who is having a fall baby with a fall theme shower. She saw something online that she liked and described it to me and this is what I can up with from what she told me.I used the Costume Bears Stamp from Stampin' Up! and used SU inks to watercolour. Then I printed the text on very vanilla cardstock and distressed the edges. Next, using my beloved Cuttlebug (CB) embossing machine I embossed the party invitationa nd chalked it with brown. After die cutting some fall colored leaves, also with my CB I glued them all onto a peach color Bazzil Bling Cardstock.I REALLY love the Bazzilll papers. Espicially the Bling. It has just enough texture and a wonderfull little shimmer to just dazzle up any card or project.
